The 2010 Season

Registration for the 2010 season is still underway for the "Learn to Play" program and there are still some slots available in the Boys U9/U11/U13/U15 and Girls Grade 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 teams. The website is always open to take additional registrations and accept payments for the upcoming season.

For those of you who have already registered, we hope you will help spread the word by contacting your friends and encourage them to visit the website and consider signing up their son or daughter. Once each team reaches 24 on a roster we will create a 'wait list' until the numbers reach 30-32 justifying the creation of a 2nd team at that age level. We encourage you to go ahead and register (no deposit needed) even if the level has been filled.

In the Spring of 2009 we reached our program's primary goal of establishing lacrosse as a high school sport. In the coming years we will be shifting our emphasis toward developing our players and coaches to become the 'best they can be.' This will include US Lacrosse Certfication of all Head Coaches; a greater concentration on skill building drills during practices; and teaching opportunities throughout the season.

The timeline for registration/season includes:

January 10th - March 14th - Sunday Indoor Skill Building Sessions Begin for Boys U13/U15 and Girls 5/6 and 7/8 at the Jungleplex in Plymouth

January 29th - Deadline for Final Payment (After which a late fee of $15 will be enforced)

February 7th - March 14th - Sunday Indoor Skill Building Sessions Begin for Boys U9/U11 and Girls 1/2 and 3/4 at the Lakeville Athletic Club

March 14th (Week of)
 - Outdoor Practices to Begin (Weather permitting)

April 4th
- Season Opener

June - Regular Season Concludes with Jamborees

End of Year Event - DATE TBD

Lakers Lacrosse Take Part in Green Day on March 28th
by Larry Simpson posted 01/20/2010

Lakers Lacrosse has been challenged by Gillette Stadium Lacrosse to take part in "New England Lacrosse Green Day" to be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The program would serve to position the sport of lacrosse as a leader in community service while recognizing the importance of sustainability. The overall effort is intended to instill in our youth the value of community service and keeping our community clean and green. The event will combine the passion and energy of youth lacrosse players with the importance of cleaning up the environment.

Lakers Lacrosse will organize a clean-up of Middleboro's John T. Nichols Middle School complex in anticipation of our utilizing the facility as our home field. The event will be held throughout Southeast Massachusetts' town lacrosse programs and promoted by Gillette Stadium Lacrosse.

Jungleplex features two, 60 x 40 yard, fieldturf fields; a lounge (Muddy Cleat Pub) and the JungleCafe; an indoor JungleLand play structure for younger siblings; arcade games; and comfortable viewing areas.  Many of the area's top high school and select lacrosse teams utilize the facility to simulate real game situations prior to getting outdoors on a larger field and should contribute to our ability of developing our older players at a faster pace.
